Albuquerque New Mexico homes
Paul Chavez, Albuquerque Real Estate Broker and Contractor
New Mexican Roots
Paul Chavez is a native New Mexican, with ancestral roots grounded in this land for hundreds of years. With a love for New Mexico's landscapes and diverse multicultural population, he understood early on there are few places as beautiful as home. The Sandia Mountains tell him where he is at.
General Contractor Business Experience
After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of New Mexico, where he studied hard and earned a BBA in Marketing Management and Entrepreneurial Studies (all the while getting enough sleep). Later he got his General Contractors License and teamed up with his father. Together they built and managed a steel fabricating corporation, a cultured granite and marble remodeling business, and home construction company (all the while not getting enough sleep).
Becoming an Albuquerque Associate Broker
In 2001 he married his wife Anita, and together share their lives with three dogs, (Luna, Forest, and Gaia), two cats (Jazz and Flower), two loud-mouthed parrots (Sky and River), and six chickens (Alice, Walker, Amy, Goodwoman, Naomi, and Chomsky). Wanting to spend more time with his family, Paul decided to scale down on his multiple businesses and try something more focused on his passion for real estate. Once again he studied hard, passed the licensing exam, and happily became a Realtor.
Home Remodeling and Investment Property Experience
In 2003 Paul and his family moved to the North Valley and spent eight long months remodeling their home, using their own hands to improve everything (added 700 sq. feet, updated electric & plumbing, installed cork and laminate flooring, metal roof, and new stucco, plastered diamond-finish walls, remodeled bathrooms, built concrete countertops, and remodeled anything else you can think of...). Since then, Paul and Anita have remodeled four other homes in the North Valley, Downtown, and EDO areas, and are currently restoring 2 duplexes in Albuquerque's Old Town/ Sawmill District.
Master of Arts in Counseling
These days, in addition to serving people in the market of buying and/or selling property, Paul has just earned his Master of Arts in Counseling. While working on his degree, he focused on multicultural, socioeconomic, and gendered issues; post-modern theories; gay, lesbian, and transgender concerns; adventure-based, experiential counseling; and group counseling. So if you are thinking about buying and/or selling your home, or are interested in investing in real estate and decide to work with Paul, not only will he share with you expert knowledge based on his General Contractor experience, he's also a great listener, bringing a sense of peacefulness to a process that often feels chaotic.
Holistic Realtor
With first-hand knowledge of what makes a home structurally sound, an eye for architectural design, experience with financing, and enthusiasm for working with other people, Paul offers a wide array of knowledge to his real estate clients. Guided by holistic perspectives, interdisciplinary learned experiences from home construction, remodeling and property investment projects, and strong interpersonal and mediation skills gained from an educational background in counseling, Paul Chavez, as a licensed New Mexico Realtor, acts as a true advocate for his customers in all transactions; whether representing a buyer or seller, whether working with someone interested in new construction or resale property, whether facilitating the process of a customer wanting purchase their primary residence or invest in real estate.
The Critical Question...
And the question of whether he gets enough sleep now? Well, that depends on when his loud-mouthed parrots decide to wake everyone up....And Paul's betting that as of mid-August, sleep will be a luxury, as he and Anita are expecting the grand entrance of their first child!
